Instrumentation Engineers Techno Innovative Association (INERTIA)

To mould eminent instrument engineers with creative minds, innovative ideas and practical skills,Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Department of Saintgits college of Engineering ,founded its own association in 2009-INERTIA- Instrumentation Engineers Techno-Innovative Association.

It is the inertia against inaction, against dormancy, providing ample momentum to the students of the department to subjugate all their technical hardships. Since its inception in 2009,it has hosted a number of events-providing budding engineers from various colleges, a platform for honing their technical as well as cultural skills. This year INERTIA has outstretched its arms by bringing the student chapters of ISA and ISOI to Saintgits.

ISA- International Society of Automation: Founded in 1945, the International Society of Automation is a leading, global, nonprofit organization that is setting the standard for automation by helping over 30,000 worldwide members and other professionals solve difficult technical problems, while enhancing their leadership and personal career capabilities. Based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, ISA develops standards; certifies industry professionals; provides education and training; publishes books and technical articles; and hosts conferences and exhibitions for automation professionals. ISA is the founding sponsor of the Automation Federation

ISOI-Instrument Society of India:  It as established in the year 1970, with head quarters at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Today it has six chapters at Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Dehradun and Pune. It strives to act as a link between academic institutions and the instrumentation industry, by organizing several programs. It also conducts programs for students and working professionals in the form of short term courses, symposia and topical reviews.

Sferics: Inertia under the banner of ISA and ISOI presents the majestic Sferics 2010 - a national level technical symposium. It provides a platform for instrumentation engineers to display their academic , practical , and extra-curricular qualities . This time Sferics bring with it a total of 5 events;- Diatrivi- Paper presentation, Viktorina- Technical Quiz, Aza do tesouro - Treasure hunt,  Obvod ladeni - circuit debugging and Retea de jocuri - Network gaming.

Hobby Club

A Hobby Club is being organized for the students, where they can carry out small project works. On every Fridays special sessions are conducted for students to develop various Electronic Circuits used in practical world.
