Students Experience

Tijo.C.Thomas, Electronics and Communication Dept, 2008-12,

Project Manager, Horizon 2011.

Four years in this college and it seems like yesterday, the first day. The first year was filled with surprises, being in a new environment and new friends. Never did I feel lonely in this college as everything was aiding my growth in this new ground. Second year I was transferred to a totally new class with new classmates in an entirely isolated block. But I was able adapt to the new situation very soon because we had extraordinary staff in our department. They were not just teachers but were friends. We could discuss any matter with them at any time. Getting into the third year I had already blended into and became a part of the department and the college. In this year was the college fest Nakshatra, a platform that was created for improving organizational capabilities of the students. During this fest we were able to make new friends whom we didn't even see during the previous years. At the last year we had to organize a technical fest Horizon, a programme that was totally on our shoulders. It was while organizing this fest that we grew closer with our juniors, an extraordinary batch of creative heads. They were full support to us at every field. This college taught me to excel in all spheres of life and did teach me how to be an Engineer. The college opened to me a whole new life filled with opportunities.

The life at Saintgits has finally come to an end. I still cant believe how quickly life moves. But i was kept wondering what actually we feel when college life ends initially. Over the years i have seen 3 batches of seniors out of the college. The way they expressed that missing feeling was never heart touching for me as i thought to myself.,way to go.,no time for such emotional plays. It was this mentality that drove me till the penultimate week at the college. Things changed drastically the day we celebrated the Final day .,the day clelebrated over the years at the college by scribbling on each others' shirts. Till that day the walls of Saintgits were  mere pile of bricks to me..but on that very day i felt life in it.,I could hear its breath.,the missing feeling had finally caught me..and it is still haunting me..There is no escaping that fact..the life as i know it had finally ended.

I cant still believe 4 yrears have passed on so quickly as i still remember my first day at the college still afresh in my memory. So when I am asked about the best moment of my college life, I am confused..Is it the lovely faces of my friends,or is it the frolics and menaces we created , or the great teachers or is it the stages in which i have performed or addressed..? I dont know.It all comes together.Certainly I had equal shares of happiest and the hardest memories. The class rooms, snack bar, labs are all bringing iminced  emotions into my heart.

The first year , the year of great promise was very challenging for me for various reasons. Yet I made a handful of good friends and never fell for any temptation of the so called college life which i enjoyed to the core. Life during that year was the slowest and more of a serious one. But then too , the thought of being in a less known applied electronics and Instrumentaion branch was not really thrilling. And with the same notion i entered the second year. But things were meant to be different there..with a bunch of students sharing the same feeling and very keen to excel along with a motivating lot of teachers.,life had  risen into a another level. And hence i lived my life in that very class.Conflicts of ideas often had created voids between us students there , but the very blood of extreme applieds had always gelled us together.

And when it comes to my friends at other branches, the royals, the mighties, the hardies, the kings and ec rocks..the Nakshatra 11 is what comes to my mind. The hardwork we all put together resulted in the biggest Nakshatra in the history of Saintgits. Sferics and pratitya were equally memorable.

Alas  it has come to a point where Real life is ahead of us., I am conscious about the changing phase of time and changing faces of people. But even then , what I have is hope. As in Shawshank Redemption which says..Hope is a good thing ,may be the best of things and no good thing ever dies..i Would like to believe in the same and I hope my friends remain the way they are now to me and So are the teachers.

Remembering the fact that Saintgits have given me atleast a positive notion even during the worst situations, I feel Gits has been the best teacher in my life. And i proudly would say i belonged to Saintgits.. my alma mater

Cijoe Samuel John, EEE, 2008-12

Magazine Editor(2010-11)

Saintgits College of Engineering... It was only a name for me when I joined here on the 10th of July 2008.. But after that, it has been a place where I've spent the 4 most productive and enjoyable years of my life.. I was born and brought up in Kolkata and I had no clue whether I'll be able to adjust in an environment totally alien to me .. But SaintGits welcomed me with both arms spread and made me feel at home from the 1st day itself… Since then there was no looking back.. With each passing year, I grew into a more confident individual..  I began to become aware of my strengths and weaknesses, in which Saintgits played a big part..

I was extremely privileged to be a part of the Compeering Committee for all the 4 years which helped me to be a good speaker.. Another proud moment was when I was elected as the Magazine Editor for the year 2010-11.. It was a defining period as I came to know the importance of leadership, how to work in a team, to motivate others and never to buckle down in any situation.. NAKSHATRA and DYUTHI were events which equipped me with organizational and management capabilities..

I would never forget my class.. The EEE batch of 2008-12… All 64 of us were like a family and stood by each other at all times.. They taught me values such as love, trust and care.. I will never forget our tours,  sleeping in class, jumping on the food during lunchtime, our various trips, and above all our friendship…  I would like to thank specially Prof. Baby K Isaac, Prof. Amey George,  Asst. Prof. Serin Zachariah,   Asst. Prof. Deepu Jose and all the faculty members and lab staff of the EEE dept for being a pillar of support and encouragement for all of us..

I would like to express profound gratitude to the Training and Placement dept. for their tireless efforts due to which I got placed in Vijaya Energy Plus Ltd. and Zayan Infotech India Ltd. and the Management for providing such an awesome infrastructure and beautiful campus and providing us with all the facilities.

Last but not the least; I remember a quote by Kevin Arnold- 'Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose. '   So, leaving Saintgits as a better person, ready to face the world… Holding on to memories.. Of my college days which I'll remember forever…

Joined Saintgits as any fresher who enters a professional institution without knowing much about it. Came in because my parents told and it was nearer to my residence. Hats off. After that it was a treat with full of fun and cream.

Everything which a young enthusiast like me wanted was there. Of course I appreciate the discipline enforced without my noticing it. All in the college ( sorry - set up - ) will have the same feeling. Classes apart - canteen, cafeteria, kiosk etc. in the campus were much beyond my expectation. In fact these were our favorite hangouts. he  howling which I received during my first attempt to bore my friends with a pathetic recitation was all real fun when I look back. Besides all these, four years of fun n enjoyment with friends in the college, took me to great heights of thrill and fun. Our guides and staff lead by Santhosh sir need special mention and commendation for their effective work in moulding our career.  We came close to each other and bonded like a family in these four years and I felt it when my friends practically organized every moment when I got married in the final year. Now we take along with us memories and rich experiences which may not come in our way once again.

College life is anything and everything to all but it differs abundantly in the case of SAINT GITS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING where not only its glorified heritage and tradition but also the parental treat and professional touch of its noble faculty have captured the inner most shrine of our hearts solely and tempestuously, leaving little or no space for any other storage or stock. Let me honestly vouch for the true fact that we stepped into this Alma Mater four years ago with absolutely no base or inputs on the engineering discipline we chose. Undoubtedly such a situation had cast in our minds immense worry overshadowed with blankness during the initial few days of S1 session but quite amazingly, the scenario changed abruptly and stunningly to make us unanimously feel that we were on the top of the world, not only on top of Kottukulam Hills. Needless to reveal, every day or even every hour or even every minute we spent here since day one will remain written in golden letters in the legends of our professional career as well as personal life till our end. We deem it grossly unfair or rather unjustifiable if we concise our sincere gratitude and high appreciation towards the management and faculty of Saint Gits on the above score merely through a bunch of sweet words, instead we do hereby kneel down to offer our great PRANAMS to them in an awesome and true spirit. Let this be our 'word of mouth' propaganda to the juniors in Saint Gits:  WE ARE TOO LUCKY TO BE THE GEORGEOUS PRODUCTS OF THIS UNIQUE PROFESSIONAL ACADEMY WHICH NUTURES THE ENTIRE STUDENT FRATERNITY WITH FRIENDLINESS, PARENTAGE, HOSPITALITY, COURTESY AND CORDIALITY.

Last but not the least, let us all pray for still further prosperity and sky high elevation of our Alma Mater in every respect on the strength of its invaluable treasure of well-found and magnanimous faculty.

Saintgits means a lot to me. My college gave me my friends, teachers and the best memories which I will cherish for ever. The beautiful campus with the ever green lawns makes it look appealing.  Having spent four years of my  life here,  I know how my college motivates us , making us reputable engineers and also helping  us  hone our  skills in a  wide range of extracurricular activites. I am proud to have served this college as the President of the Student's  council which brought out the best in me.  I will be always thankful to our Principal Dr. M. C. Philippose and the college Management for taking pain in providing the best of facilities to its students.  Being a student of the Mechanical Engineering Department, I was able to be a part of a vibrant lot surging with energy.  The best part of our student life here is the strenuous task of hosting our college fest Nakshatra and various other department fests  when we work tirelessly to put up an glitzy show. Our college has always been at its best in coming up with splendid projects. We are  glad that our  projects also secured both statewide and  national acclaim. Our Department also have the SAINTGITS -CALTECH  programme where projects for the 'Developing World'  are jointly developed by our students and the Students of CALTECH. My college was also there to support me and our Quiz Club to host a national open quiz 'The Q Senate Challenge' one of the biggest quizzes to have been hosted in the state. The placement department was competent in bringing good placements to the campus with nearly 80 of us being selected by Infosys alone. They were potent in bringing other majors like the MRF and Oracle, to name a few.

Now that all the good times  of joy, fights, bunking and our own occasional series tests which come in a flash and go, are over for us its time for our young brothers and sisters to enjoy  the same. You all can forward to a good time here.

Chitra Sasikumar,MCA 2009-12

I've come  to the end of my MCA course this year in college, and while it hasn't been everything I expected, I am happy to say that these three years has offered me with a lot of experiences and opportunities. When I joined this college I was a BSc Computer Science Degree holder from an Arts and Science College, an immature student but this college has helped me to change myself to a professional. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Management and all the faculty members at Saintgits and especially to Mr. Gopeekrishnan R, Associate Professor (our GK sir) who was always there from the start to guide us. The students are also provided with an opportunity to develop their management skills through organizing Technical Fests. 'RADIEUX 3.0' the technical fest which was the combined effort of the students and faculties of the MCA department was a grand success. . We the 2009-12 MCA batch, express our deepest gratitude to our beloved HOD, Prof.Koshy Varghese and to all the faculties of MCA depatment. We would also like to express our gratitude to Network Technician  Mr. Ajesh P S and Hardware Technician Mr. Jins Mani Kurian who were always there when we wanted any technical support.

I thank God and above all my parents, without whose love and support, this wouldn't have been possible. We the 30 students of 2009-12 MCA batch came to this college, had fun, shared different experiences and now it's time for us to work for our bright future. I wish all the best to all my loved ones and I'm definitely going to miss all the fun I had with my dear friends. Wish my college and all my juniors all the very best for the future. Good luck and God Bless.

Saintgits College of Engineering, one of the best private self financing colleges in kerala has gained a lot of reputation since its establishment. With excellent academic results, placements and a very beautiful campus, it has always attracted the attention of parents and students. My college, right from the first year, gave me so many opportunities to develop the skills in me.I express my sincere gratitude to the Management for providing us with all the facilities, be it for academics, placements or extra-curricular activities. I got placed in INFOSYS. I had an aggregate of 79.5% at that time. I express my sincere gratitude to all the faculty members at Saintgits , without whose guidance and support ,it wouldn't have been possible. Also I would like to thank our Placement Cell Officer, Mr.Sivadasan and the Management. Special thanks to Prof. Baby.K.Isaac(The HOD), Er.Sreekala (Guide, Seminar), Er.Shinymol.K.A(Internal Guide, Project). The gossips, chats, messages, teasings, fights, misunderstandings, strikes, suspensions, sleeping in class, bunking classes, birthday celebrations, and the list goes on like that. Now all these are the sweet memories of my college life. I thank all my friends for making my college life so beautiful. I came to this college as an immature +2 pass out. My thoughts, my attitude and my personality have changed during these 4 years. It was a learning experience which went beyond books and boundaries, opening my mind to more vibrant thoughts. Being a member of our close net family of civil students, I believe that my classmates will also have the same opinion. This is due to the collective efforts of our efficient management and dedicated faculties. The sincere and untiring efforts of the placement cell have also helped man students to get placed in various prestigious organizations. The college management helped us to enhance our soft skills through techno cultural events which were organized and managed by the students themselves. 'ETERNIA', the technical fest of the civil department was a grand success. We the 'mighty civil', express our deepest gratitude to our beloved HOD, Prof.Achamma Cheriyan. She is a strict disciplinarian, a great motivator, our pillar of strength and a strong source of support and guidance. We also express our gratitude to Prof.Bhaskaran Nair, Prof.Hari.G all our teachers and lab staffs for their ungrudging support and contribution. We came close to each other and bonded like a family in these 4 years and now we take along with us fond memories and rich experiences which we will cherish forever.
